This work scores a generated set jointly, weighting each idea by both quality and distance from ideas already proposed. On a contamination-free benchmark, the authors' 8-billion-parameter model achieved higher creative utility than the tested Claude Opus 4.8 and GPT-6 Astra configurations. Four experts judged its sets about as promising as Claude's and marginally more unique; coding-agent proof-of-concept runs kept comparable success-at-k. The pilot is small and does not establish scientific novelty or validity, but it makes diversity an explicit training target rather than a prompt request.",
